On my way to Marin I stopped at several homes to say goodbye to friends and family. Just as it was getting dark I reached the Holyday-home of my grandparents where I would stay for the first night.

As Mathieu van der Poel and co. raced over the Poggio as part of Milano-Sanremo, I faced my own challenges. However they where manageable and I got away with dry feets. It was a successful start into my adventure.
